Man slashed in East Kilbride as police launch probe into knife attack

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was slashed in a house in East Kilbride last night. Police have launched a probe into the horror knife attack which took place at an address on Strathfillan Road at roughly 7.50pm on Wednesday, February 22.

The 31-year-old victim was found with laceration wounds and blue-lighted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Medics have described his condition as stable.

A large police presence remained in the West Mains area in the hours following and an investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances around the incident.

Officers were reportedly scouring the area for evidence last night and conducting door-to-door enquiries, with police appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50am on Wednesday, 22 February, police were called to a report of a man seriously assaulted within a house in Strathfillan Road, East Kilbride.

“Officers attended and a 31-year-old man was taken by Ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for lacerations. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact 101 with reference number 3290 of 22 February.”
