A 29-year-old man was shot and wounded Thursday morning in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was in an alley about 7:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Arthington Street when a driver pulled up in a vehicle and fired shots, Chicago police said.

The man, struck in the leg, took himself to Mt. Sinai Hospital, police said. His condition had stabilized.

The shooter was driving a light blue or gray car, possibly a BMW, police said. The car was last seen fleeing westbound down the alley.

No arrests have been made, police said.
