A man was fatally shot Sunday in north suburban Zion, police said.
A person flagged down an officer at 11 p.m. and reported a man who was possibly passed out in the 2800 block of Galilee Avenue, Zion police said.
The officer found the 44-year-old in a grassy area with several gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to Vista Medial Center East, where he died just after midnight Monday.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force and Zion police are conducting a homicide investigation.
