Man shot dead in Englewood: police

Officers were called to the 6600 block of South Winchester Avenue June 21, 2019, and found an unresponsive 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

A man was fatally shot Friday in Englewood on the South Side, according to police.

Officers were called to the 6600 block of South Winchester Avenue and found an unresponsive 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

He had been shot multiple times about 1:50 p.m. in his torso and back, police said. The man was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A police spokesperson did not immediately have additional details.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
