A 57-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday in Garfield Park on the South Side.
A witness told officials they heard gunshots and saw the man on the ground next to a 2008 Chrysler minivan about 2:20 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Washington Boulevard, Chicago police said.
A Sun-Times photographer on the scene said the man appeared to be shot outside the New Parie Hotel.
He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. Police didn’t have a description of who shot him.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
Last week, the New Parie Hotel was evacuated after a room in the first floor caught fire. Three people were hospitalized in good condition.
