Man shoots to fame after being labelled 'too handsome' during TV appearance

A Chinese man has shot to fame for "being too handsome" after briefly appearing on TV.

Mr Zhang from Ningbo in east China, was filmed by a local TV station after a broken item in his rented furnished flat left him with a hefty medical bill.

The 22-year-old claims that the glass sliding door to his shower shattered whilst he was in there.

The broken glass left the tenant with severe cuts on both of his hands, and a staggering medical bill of 9,400 yuan, approximately £1,084.87.

Hoping to seek compensation from the residential management office, Mr Zhang approached the local press, and was later interviewed by Zhejiang Television.

But after the segment went to air, he became an internet sensation for his looks not the broken door.

In just 24 hours the video was top of the trending list on Weibo, receiving over 50 million views and thousands of comments.

One commenter wrote: "Once I saw Mr Zhang’s face, I couldn’t care any less about the news story."

Another said: "I think it’s definitely the apartment and the management office’s fault, no objection. Mr Zhang is too handsome. I don’t think he’ll lie."

A third user also asked whether he needed a girlfriend.

Mr Zhang, who is a live-streamer for an online brand, was shocked at the level of attention he received after going on air, admitting : "I think it’s too much. I just wanted to protect my rights. I didn’t think this would happen", reports the Daily Mail.

According to a spokesman for the residential management office, they initially denied responsibility for the broken glass as there wasn't any proof that it had shattered itself.

But when the video went viral they agreed to pay for a portion of Mr Zhang's medical bills.
