A man from Merseyside has received thousands of likes on TikTok after sharing a video of his 25 hour journey home.
Ethan Leyland, a fashion student from St Helens, currently lives in New York where he is completing an internship. His family feared the 25-year-old would spend the festive season alone over 3,000 miles away.
Ethan had other ideas however, as the Central St Martins student embarked on a 25 hour journey from New York to St Helens to surprise his family on Christmas Eve. Posting the journey on TikTok, set to Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas, Ethan has gained over 220,000 views on the app.

He told the ECHO: "Everyone thought I would be spending Christmas alone in New York but I decided to fly home on Christmas Eve. I was travelling for 25 hours in total, from my apartment to JFK Airport, then the flight to London, and finally the train from London to St Helens."
The video shows the emotional reaction of Ethan's family after he arrived home wishing them a merry Christmas. Ethan added: "It was so nice to see my family and friends again. I lived with my two best friends from school, Lydia and Hannah, in London so it has been very lonely living alone in New York.
"But being reunited for Christmas has just been amazing."
