Man seriously injured after police incident at Maryhill flats

A man has been left seriously injured after police were called to an incident at a block of flats in Maryhill.

Officers were scrambled to the scene at Firhill Street yesterday evening after receiving a report of 'a disturbance'.

Last night, an eyewitness described the scene to Glasgow Live and said: "There’s about 5 or 6 people in those full hazmat suits, protected by police. They were handling some object on the street.'

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Daily Record: "Police were called around 5.15pm on Thursday 12 March, 2020, after a report of a disturbance on Firhill Street, Glasgow.

"A 23-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries where his condition is described as stable.

"Enquiries, which are at an early stage, are ongoing."

Glasgow Live are still awaiting comment from Police Scotland.
