Man seriously assaulted on canal path in Maryhill as police appeal for information

A man has been left with serious injuries after being assaulted on a canal path in Maryhill.

The 46-year-old was rushed to hospital after he was attacked on the canal path beside Gairbraid Parish Church at around 11pm on Thursday November 5.

Detectives are appealing for information and CCTV footage from local businesses.

Detective Constable Katrina Keogh, from Greater Glasgow CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in this area of Maryhill around the time of the incident on Thursday and saw anything suspicious to please come forward.

“At this time, we’d also ask any nearby individuals or businesses with potential CCTV footage to get in touch, as it may prove useful to our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 1751 of 8 November. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
