Man rushed to hospital with spinal injuries after falling out of window

A man has been taken to hospital after falling "from a height" out of a window.

At 9.40am on Thursday, emergency services were called to Avondale Road North in Southport after reports a man in his 50s had fallen through a window. He was then taken to the hospital where he is still being treated for head and spinal injuries.

However, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police are now investigating the issue and a woman is being questioned by detectives.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We are investigating following reports a male fell from height at a property in Southport. Emergency services were called to the house on Avondale Road North at 9.40am."

"The man, who is in his 50s, was taken to hospital with head and spinal injuries. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened. A woman is currently being questioned by detectives."
