Man rushed to hospital in critical condition after falling from balcony in Adelaide CBD

Police officers at the scene where a man fell from a balcony in Adelaide.

Mystery surrounds an incident in which a man fell from the balcony of an apartment block in Adelaide's CBD this morning, leaving him in a critical condition.

SA Police said the man suffered serious injuries after falling to the ground about 5:15am today at an apartment block near Whitmore Square.

Paramedics and police were called to the building, on Hocking Place, where the man was found unconscious on the ground.

The 29-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they believed the man fell from a third-floor balcony after trying to enter his apartment.

A second man was also treated by paramedics at the scene but had suffered only minor injuries.

Police said he had fallen inside the apartment building stairwell.

A number of police officers attended the scene this morning but said the incident was not suspicious.
