Man rushed to hospital after ‘incident’ on busy Scots road as roller ‘overturns’ onto pavement

An injured man has been rushed to hospital after an “incident” on a busy Edinburgh road.

A video from the scene shows a heavy road roller overturned onto the pavement next to a busy Telford Road.

Police confirmed they were called to the scene at around 2pm, following reports that a man had been hurt.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing, Edinburgh Live reports.

An image captured at the scene shows the heavy-duty machinery lying next to a large lorry which was parked up with cones surrounding it.

Traffic in the area quickly built up due to one of the lanes being blocked however police were on hand to help keep motorists moving.

Police have confirmed the man was taken to hospital however the extent of his injuries are not currently known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2pm this afternoon, police were made aware of an incident in Telford Road where a man was injured.

“The man has been taken to hospital and police assisted with traffic management. Enquiries are ongoing."
