Man rushed to hospital after fight in Leeds city centre as police arrest 29-year-old

Police have arrested a 29-year-old man after a street brawl in Leeds city centre left a man in hospital.

West Yorkshire Police (WYP) were called to The Headrow at 8.35pm on Saturday (July 2) after receiving reports of the fight. A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital where he received treatment for injuries that have been described as "not serious or life-threatening."

Officers arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has since been released under investigation.

In a statement given to Leeds Live, a spokesperson for WYP said: "At 8.35pm on Saturday, police were called to reports of a fight in The Headrow in Leeds city centre. A 42-year-old man was treated at hospital for injuries that were not serious or life threatening.

"A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the incident. He has been released under investigation."
