A man visiting a Pizza Hut restaurant for the first time was left outraged by the ketchup label, which he says has 'sexual' connotations.
Adrian Shann, 31, was taken aback by the labelling of the bottle, which he says is 'not innocent in his eyes. He explained that he thinks the 'Shake, Squeeze and Squirt' ketchup branding 'sounds like an app for swingers', Hull Live reports.
Adrian said: "The barbecue sauce one said 'Squeeze', but the ketchup one said that, it put me off using it. It literally sounds like an app for swingers. I do not understand how someone could put that sentence together, it's awful."
He said he was particularly concerned because the chain's stores often hosts kids and families for meals.
"It is because of the chain's marketing aimed at children that I am worried," he said.
He said there was a family group eating at the Pizza Hut store in Clive Sullivan Way at the same time as him.
"The adults had a laugh and then the children were asking their parents to tell them about it," he said.
"If I had my niece with me, I would be worried. It's definitely not appropriate."
Adrian was adamant that the branding 'is not innocent'.
In contrast, the recently opened takeaway in Princes Avenue, The Food Hub, which seemingly imitates the logo of the world's largest porn site, Pornhub, did not worry him as much.
"They're just a takeaway, it doesn't have so many kids in," he said.
The 'Shake, Squeeze and Squirt' tomato ketchup label has been a feature of Pizza Hut stores since at least 2019.
"I think they were all laughing when they created it," he said.
"It's not hidden, it's on the tables.
"They need to make it kid-friendly. I hope they change it."
Pizza Hut has been approached for comment.
