Man 'made threats' to worker at busy B&M store

Emergency services were seen at a B&M store on a busy road after reports a staff member had been threatened.

Merseyside Police were called to the store on Edge Lane on Wednesday afternoon. It was reported a customer had made threats to a member of staff inside the store at around 2.10pm.

Eyewitnesses said several police cars and multiple officers were seen outside the store as officers carried out their enquiries. Merseyside Police remained at the scene for a short while.

Upon arrival, police officers searched the man at the store before asking him to leave. A spokesman for the force said: "We received a report of threats made to a member of staff inside a store on Edge Lane in Old Swan at around 2.10pm today.

"Officers searched the suspect at the store and asked the man to leave the premises. Officers remain at store to continue their enquiries."
