Bunnie Xo shares details of her sobriety 'journey'

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have been married since 2016

Bunnie Xo had to rediscover herself after getting sober.

The podcast host previously struggled with drug addiction, and Bunnie has now opened up about her recovery to a fan going on a similar "journey".

Asked about returning to the dating world after getting sober, Bunnie told Playboy: "It’s definitely a journey.

"You have to give yourself time, and you have to give yourself grace, and you have to relearn what you like sober, because what you like when you’re drunk and what you like when you’re sober are two different things."

Bunnie believes it's important to socialise in temptation-free environments.

She said: "Go take an art class. Go dabble in something where you have to meet people and there’s not alcohol—anything that’s not in a bar setting. Go to church—go somewhere that you’re able to mingle with other people but not be tempted to drink."

Bunnie recently claimed that faith pulled her through the darkest chapters of her life.

The podcast host - who has been married to Jelly Roll since 2016 - thinks God has played a central role in her recovery.

She told Fox News Digital: "I’m like a cat.

"I’ve had nine lives, and I genuinely feel like God has always had His hand on my life. He has always been there in some way, even when I wasn’t worthy of it, and even when I didn’t acknowledge Him. Even when I was doing things that were not what He would want me to do, He still always pulled me out of it.

"My mess became my message and my testimony. I truly feel like leaning on God is the only thing that got me through some of the situations that I put myself in."

Bunnie admitted that she finds "hope" in her faith.

She said: "I feel like we all need something to believe in.

"If there was no hope in the world, the world would be worse off than it already is right now. And I think that faith gives people some sort of hope. I believe the power of Jesus is real. I’ve seen it. I’ve felt His hand."
