Man left with 'life-threatening' injuries following street attack in Bolton

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following an assault in Bolton.

Police were called to Winchester Way, in Breightmet, at around 10.20pm on Monday, July 13.

Witnesses said there were up to 10 police vehicles at the scene.

Officers found a 46-year-old man with 'life-threatening injuries'. He was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing, a spokesman for GMP said.

A police cordon remains in the area this morning. It is believed officers were at the scene 'all night'.

A resident, who did not wish to be named, described seeing a man lying on the ground following the incident.

He said: “There were about 10 police cars and vans there last night and two ambulances.

“Police have been there all night at the crime scene.” 

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called to a report of an assault on Winchester Way, Bolton at around 10.20pm on Monday 14 July 2020.

"Emergency services attended and a man aged 46 was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an incident on Winchester Way at 22:36 on the 13th July. 

“We attended with an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and advanced paramedic and took a patient to hospital.”
