Man in hospital after scrambler bike gang attack near park

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after he was attacked by four men on scrambler bikes.

Merseyside Police has confirmed that a man was assaulted in Netherton last night (Tuesday, May 24). Officers were called to to the Cooksons Bridge area of Netherton by the North West Ambulance Service at around 8pm after reports that a man in his 20s had suffered lacerations to his face and hand.

Police believe that the assault took place on Church Way near to the entrance of Killen Green Park and involved four men on scrambler bikes. The man was taken to hospital for treatment, with his injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO : "We are investigating following reports a man was assaulted in the Netherton area last night, Tuesday, May 24. Officers were called by the North West Ambulance Service to the area of Cookson’s Bridge at 8pm following reports the man, who is in his 20s, had suffered lacerations to his face and hand.

"It is believed the assault involved four males on scrambler bikes and occurred on Church Way near to the entrance of Killen Green Park. The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and an investigation is underway. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000358671."
