Man in hospital after Scots street attack as cops hunt culprit

A man has been rushed to hospital after a serious assault on a Scots street.

Mercy crews raced to Carfin Street in Glasgow's Govanhill after receiving a report of an assault at 7.35pm on Friday January 6. Medics attended and on arrival, a 35-year-old man was found with serious injuries.

He was blue-lighted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where he was later released. Images from the scene of the incident show multiple cop vehicles and several officers in attendance.

Officers say inquires remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.35pm on Friday, 6 January, to a report of a serious assault in the Carfin Street area of Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and later released.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
