Emergency services are at the scene of a shooting incident in west Dublin.
The attack occurred at around 1:50pm in the Griffeen Glen Park estate in the suburb of Lucan.
Several shots were fired at the man who is understood to have been seriously injured.
A suspected getaway vehicle was found nearby.

Gardai, The National Ambulance Service and the Dublin Fire Brigade are all at the scene.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Lucan are currently at scene of a shooting incident that occurred at Griffeen Glen Park, Lucan this afternoon Wednesday 4th September, 2019 at 1.50p.m.
"A man (early 40s) was shot a number of times while in his car. He has been removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown in a serious condition.
"The road is currently closed and scene preserved.
"Investigations ongoing."
