Man in 'distinctive' hoodie wanted for questioning over death of mother of three

Police have released footage of a man wearing a black hoodie with a "distinctive" blue band, seen walking near the home of Samantha Fraser on the day that she died.

Police have released footage of a hooded man and a motorcycle driver they want to speak to over the death of a mother of three found at her home on Victoria's Phillip Island.

Samantha Fraser was found dead in the garage of her Cowes home last week.

Homicide squad detectives said she had been assaulted in the hours before she died.

Police interviewed a 41-year-old Paynesville man, understood to be Ms Fraser's former partner, last week, before releasing him without charge.

Now they are looking to speak with a man seen on video footage walking towards Ms Fraser's home on Seagrove Way on the day she died.

The footage shows him wearing a black hoodie with what police have called "a distinctive dark blue band on the midriff and arms".

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the man in the area, knows someone who owns a similar hoodie or sold one in recent weeks.

They also believe a man seen on CCTV footage driving a motorcycle on nearby Thompson Avenue and then Settlement Road may be the same man.

Ms Fraser, 38, was a psychologist who worked at the Cowes Medical Centre.

On the day of her death, she met with friends in the morning but failed to show up to a midday appointment.

Officers conducting a welfare check discovered her body, after she failed to pick up her children from the local primary school that afternoon.

Police said last week they were also investigating whether the crime scene had been tampered with, but declined to go into further detail.
