Man in 30s rushed to hospital after shooting as car riddled with bullet holes

A man has been rushed to hospital after a shooting on a busy street which left a car riddled with bullet holes.

The victim, in his 30s, was found suffering gunshot wounds at around 1.15am today in Northolt, West London.

He was rushed to hospital where he is understood to be in a non-life-threatening condition.

A crime scene remains in place. No arrests have been made yet.

Buses have been diverted and roads are closed around the scene of the shooting today.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 01:15hrs on Tuesday, 5 July to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Kingshill Avenue and Yeading Lane, Northolt.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 30s, suffering gunshot injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains; his condition is not life-threatening.

"A crime scene remains in place. No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."

An eyewitness at the scene told MyLondon he saw "at least nine bullet holes" in a car left at the scene "in driver's window and rear door on the driver's side".

He added: "There were clearly numerous latex gloves, a foil sheet and what appeared to be bandages on the road by the driver's door, suggesting there were injuries.

"A number of shots had passed through the car and exited the passenger's window, where they ended up is anyone's guess." The witness added that he could not see any visible blood.

Mr and Mrs James, who are 61 and 65, said they heard lots of load bangs but didn't look out of their window as they were too scared.

Mr James said: "It's terrifying that they haven't caught the gunman yet."

Anne Marie Harrison, a 26-year-old mum living on Hughenden Gardens, said: "I was working late last night and got back around the time it happened. I just saw the blue flashing lines and thought the worst - I'm glad to hear he's ok."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 01.07am today (05 July) to reports of an incident on Kingshill Road, Hayes. We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a response car, and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by road. Our medics treated one patient at the scene, before taking him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
