Man in 30s found dead after police called to concern for safety

A man in his 30s has died after police were called to reports of a concern for safety.

Merseyside Police were called to North Road in St Helens following reports of a concern for the safety of a man at around midday on Thursday, May 25. Once officers arrived at the scene a man in his 30s was pronounced dead in Norman Salisbury Court.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police cordon has been put in place on North Road between Crab Street and Cooper Street as emergency services remain at the scene. Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service are at the scene.

People are being asked to avoid the area while enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police can confirm emergency services were called to a concern for safety of a man in St Helens today, Thursday 25 May. Just before 12noon we received a report of a concern for safety of a man in his 30s on Norman Salisbury Court.

"He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics and his death is being treated as non-suspicious. North Road is currently closed whilst emergency services remain at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

"Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
