
Police are investigating after an altercation at Swansea is alleged to have resulted in a man presenting to hospital with a puncture wound to his chest.
Police said investigations into the alleged incident which occurred early Saturday morning were still in their "early days" but believe it began with an altercation outside a chemist on the Pacific Highway.
Afterwards, a man turned up at Belmont Hospital with a puncture wound to the left side of his chest, which police said was not life-threatening.
He was transferred to John Hunter Hospital, where police spoke to him.
Officers also spoke to another person, but no charges have been laid.
Police have processed a crime scene where the incident was alleged to have occurred and are continuing to make inquiries.
