Man found dead at Manchester's old Central Retail Park named

A man found dead at Manchester's old Central Retail Park has been named. Coronial proceedings into the passing of Chevon Alphonso White have begun.

The 41-year-old was reported missing on September 15 last year, a hearing at Manchester Coroners' Court was told. Coroner Zak Golombeck said that on September 18 a group of teenagers skateboarding at the former Central Retail Park on Great Ancoats Street in the city centre raised the alarm after sadly finding Mr White dead.

He was later formally identified. The cause of Mr White's death has not yet been recorded.

Mr Golombeck requested further evidence for a documentary hearing to take place at a later date, including a post-mortem and histopathology reports.

A JustGiving page set up earlier this year paid tribute to Mr White, who lived in Newton Heath. It read: "As many of us know now, Chevon sadly passed away suddenly. This was such a shock for everybody and he will truly missed by many.

"Chevon was such a lovely man, caring, had a great sense of humour and would do anything for anyone. Chevon was a loving fiancé, step dad, grandad and friend to many."
