Man found dead at house in Liverpool as police issue appeal

A man has been found dead at a house in Liverpool.

Merseyside Police today named the deceased after confirming the sad news that the man's body was found at a property in Speke.

Police said Gordon Matthews was found dead at his home in Stapleton Avenue.

The 56-year-old died earlier this month on Thursday, February 4.

Merseyside Police have ruled out foul play.

The hunt is on for Mr Matthew's relatives.

Efforts so far to find members of his family have so far drawn a blank.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Please share and help Liverpool Coroner's Office find the next of kin of a Speke man who sadly died recently.

"Gordon Matthews, 56, passed away at his home in Stapleton Avenue on 4 February 2021. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
