Man found bleeding in hotel room after smashing his way in

A man smashed through a hotel window before being found by police in a hotel room with injuries to his leg.

Merseyside Police were called to Tune Hotel of Castle Street in Liverpool City Centre at 4.20am on Wednesday, September 21, following reports a window was smashed. Officers searched the hotel and found a man inside with an injury to his leg.

He was rushed to hospital, while being accompanied by police officers, and was treated for his injuries. Later, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of four counts of burglary.

An eyewitness told The ECHO a man had climbed up to a first floor window and smashed it before being found in a room bleeding. Officers remained at the hotel into Wednesday afternoon, with forensics officers attending the scene.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We were called to the Tune Hotel on Castle Street, Liverpool city centre, at 4.20am yesterday, Wednesday 21st September, following reports a window had been smashed. Patrols attended and located a male inside the hotel with a leg injury.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injury. A 24 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of 4 x burglary.

"He is currently in custody where he is being questioned by officers. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
