Man fighting for life after being found injured near bus stop in Glasgow

A man is fighting for his life after being found injured in a Glasgow street.

Officers rushed to Garscube road in Cowcaddens at around 7.10am after reports of a man on the ground at a bus stop.

He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary .

His condition is described as critical.

Officers have cordoned off the scene as a police investigation continues.

Cops are appealing for a woman, seen at the bus stop between 5.30 and 5.45 this morning, to come forward as she may have vital information.

Detectives are also liaising with bus companies for information on what buses use that route and plan to check through CCTV from the area.

Detective Inspector Peter Sharp said:  “A man has been found seriously injured and it’s important we find out what happened to him. We need to piece together the man’s movements and establish when he got to the bus stop and the circumstances of what happened.

I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area in the early hours of this morning to contact us with any information which could assist our enquiries.  No matter how insignificant it may seem, please do get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at the city centre police station via 101, quoting incident number 0702 of Saturday, 4 January, 2020.
