Man dies suddenly at sauna in Glasgow as cops launch ‘unexplained death’ probe

A police investigation has been launched after a man died suddenly at a sauna in Glasgow last night.

Emergency services were called to The Pipeworks health and leisure club on Metropole Lane at around 7.55pm on Saturday.

A 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, however, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Officers are continuing to probe the man’s passing, which is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course as is the case with all sudden deaths.

The venue announced it had temporarily closed overnight due to a “serious incident” but has since reopened.

They tweeted: “We will be back open at 10am. We had a serious incident this evening (Saturday) and have been closed since 8pm but will be back open Sunday 10am.”

The Pipeworks describe itself as a luxury all male health and leisure club located in the city centre of Glasgow.
