A Gage Park man who was struck by a vehicle earlier this month in Back of the Yards has died from his injuries.
Juan Cabral, 55, was pronounced dead at 7:50 a.m. May 23 at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
About 3 p.m. May 5, Cabral was crossing the street in the 4700 block of South Ashland Avenue when a 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2007 Dodge Charger were involved in a crash, Chicago police and the medical examiner’s office said.
The collision caused the Charger to slide into the crosswalk, striking Cabral in the leg, authorities said.
An autopsy found he died of complications from multiple injuries sustained in the crash and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.
