A 22-year-old man who was shot last week in Heart of Chicago has died from his injuries.

He was in a vehicle about 8:30 p.m. June 2 in the 2100 block of West Cermak Road when he was shot in the head, Chicago police said.

His friends drove him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:53 p.m. Monday, officials said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Deshon Dillard of Roseland.

Autopsy results released Friday confirmed he died from his gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
