Man dies in hospital after police incident at Perth home

The man was said to be acting erratically at the house when police arrived.

A man who stopped breathing while police were attempting to remove him from a house in Perth's northern suburbs has died in hospital.

Police and St John Ambulance were called to the house on Yosemite Loop in Ballajura on Friday morning.

Officers arrived to find a 34-year-old man acting erratically.

Police said the man stopped breathing for an unknown reason as officers were attempting to remove him from the house.

The officers performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, but died overnight.

The man's death is being treated as a "critical incident" and an investigation is being overseen by the Homicide Squad and Internal Affairs Unit, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area between 5:30am and 6:00am on Friday is urged to contact police.
