Man dies in hospital after being rescued from Bristol flat fire

A man has died in hospital after being rescued from a flat fire in Bristol. The man died three days after the blaze in Stockwood, police have confirmed.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the scene of a fire in an upstairs flat on Dutton Road on Monday, January 23 after neighbours reported a blaze. The emergency services rescued a person from the first-floor of a block of flats.

The casualty was then taken to hospital by paramedics. However, it has now been confirmed that a man in his 50s has died following the incident.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "Avon Fire and Rescue Service called us at about 3.45pm to make us aware of a fire they were dealing with at an address in Dutton Road, Stockwood. A man in his 50s was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital, where he sadly died three days later.

"His family have been informed and our sympathies are with them. We are continuing to conduct enquiries on behalf of the coroner."
