Man dies in hospital after being hit by Transit van in Fife

A man has died after being hit by a van in Fife.

The 43-year-old was rushed to hospital after he was hit by a Ford Transit panel van on Station Road, Cardenden, on Thursday night.

Police found the van in Blyth Gardens, Kirkcaldy - around four miles away from the spot where where the man was discovered with serious head injuries.

He later died in Western General Hospital in Edinburgh . His next of kin have been made aware.

Police have continued to investigate the collision and a 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with it.

Sergeant Nicola Young, of Fife Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are very much with the man's family and all those affected by this tragic incident.

"An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing and I urge anyone who either saw what happened, or saw the vehicle involved in the collision, to please get in touch as soon as possible.

"Dash-cam footage in particular would be extremely helpful."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: “Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3318 of November 28.”
