Man dies following bridge fall in Swansea that closed main road near M4

Police have confirmed that a man has died following a bridge fall which closed a main road in Swansea for several hours .

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to an incident on the A4067 in Swansea, near junction 45 for Ynysforgan on Tuesday, March 3.

The road, which is a main route from the M4 into the city centre, was closed from around 9am for more than two hours.

The road was closed on Tuesday morning (Media Wales)

A statement later released by South Wales Police confirmed that a man has died.

A spokesman for the force said: "Emergency services were called to an incident on the A4067 in Swansea, near junction 45 for Ynysforgan, at about 8.45am on Tuesday.

"A man was seen to fall from a bridge onto the carriageway. He was later pronounced deceased.

"The death is not considered suspicious.  Next of kin have been informed and a file of evidence is being prepared for HM Coroner."
