A man has tragically died after "taking unwell" on a street near Glasgow this morning.
Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised on Glasgow Road in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, at around 11.30am on Tuesday, June 1.
Ambulance crews attended and tried to resuscitate the casualty, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An eyewitness said: "It looked like a very serious incident on the building site off Glasgow Road.
"Several police and ambulance were in attendance and they were trying to resuscitate the person lying in the stretcher."
The man's family have been informed of his death.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course, but there is not believed to be any criminality or suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service to a person who had taken unwell in the Glasgow Road area at around 11.30am on Tuesday, 1 June.
"The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, his family have been informed and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
