Man dies after huge emergency service response on south Bristol road

A man has died following an incident on a street in south Bristol. Emergency services were called yesterday (Wednesday, May 10, 2023) afternoon following a welfare concern.

In a statement from Avon and Somerset Police today, they said a man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said his death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin has been informed. A collection of emergency service vehicles were at the scene at around 5:20pm, including a critical care team, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, along with Avon Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident happened on Wick Road, Bristol and despite the best efforts from emergency services. The man sadly died at the scene. In a statement, police added their thoughts are with his next of kin at this time.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers were called to Wick Road, Bristol, at around 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 May) due to concerns for the welfare of a man.

"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
