Man dies after falling from Bootle Strand car park

A man has died after falling from a building in Bootle.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Stanley Road, near Bootle Strand, at around 10am on Tuesday, April 11. The emergency services were responding to calls for concern for the safety of a man.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, however, police have confirmed today that the man has died. A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm the man has sadly passed away.

"His next of kin have been notified. The matter has been referred to the coroner." Police and forensic officers remained at the scene for much of yesterday, while investigations were ongoing.

The cordon covered Vermont Way, Washington Parade and Delaware Road, surrounding Bootle Strand. People were being asked to avoid the area and access to the scene was restricted.
