Man dies after being hit by train on line near Bridge of Allan

A man has died after being struck by a train on the line near Bridge of Allan last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident at around 8.50pm on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “We were called to the line near Bridge of Allan at 8.49pm on Wednesday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”

As a result of the incident, train services between Aberdeen and Glasgow Queen Street were subject to cancellations and delays with delays on the Edinburgh to Dunblane line also.
