Man dead after major police response to incident at housing estate

A man has died following a serious incident in Farnworth, Bolton.

Residents spotted a large number of police vehicles and ambulances outside a home on Tulip Avenue in the Flower Estate at around 9.20am on Friday, August 7.

Paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving the call but, despite their best efforts, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Part of the road was cordoned off between 9.30am and around 1pm.

Police have since confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. It is believed to have been an accident.

A spokesman for GMP said: "At around 9.20am on Friday, August 7, police were called to an incident on Tulip Avenue, Bolton.

"Emergency services attended.

"A man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
