Two armed robberies happened in just over 24 hours this week in Bronzeville on the South Side, including one in which a person was shot in the neck.

In each incident, two males approached someone on foot and threatened them with semi-automatic handguns, Chicago police said. They stole property from the victims and fled the scene in a white SUV.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the neck during the first robbery, about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 4000 block of South Calumet Avenue, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

The other robbery happened the following night, about 11:15 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 4400 block of South Indiana Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
