Man critical after head-on crash in Raffeen, Co Cork

A man is in a critical condition in hospital this morning after a head-on collision last night.

The 34-year-old was the driver of one car involved in a crash on the R610 at Raffeen, Carrigaline, Co Cork at around 9.15pm on Saturday night.

There was a head-on crash on the road between two cars around that time and three people were taken to Cork University Hospital.

A man aged 56 was driving the other car with a teenager, 17, as a passenger. They both received non life-threatening injuries, gardai said.

The road has been closed for a forensic team and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and for anyone who was travelling on the R610 between 9pm and 9.15pm last night, or anyone who was in the area and might have seen the crash or might have dash cam footage to contact them at Togher Garda Station on 021 4947120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
