Man 'compliments' police after they followed him home in unmarked car

A man praised police after he was followed back to his house by an unmarked police car.

Police spotted a man riding an electric bike down the pavement on County Road in Kirkby, but were unable to stop him after he rode off into a park.

However an unmarked police car followed the rider back to his house. Police said they found drugs at the address and arrested a man, who then "complimented" officers.

Police posted pictures of the electric bike which was seized, and a statement which read: "We hope you've had a lovely sunny Sunday today, the police officers from Kirkby certainly have. Officers from Kirkby Community Team have seized an electric bike this evening after they sighted a male riding carelessly along the pavement of County Road.

"The male rider thought it would be a good idea to try and evade officers by entering a local park area however, he wasn’t aware that a plain police vehicle was following his every move and followed him back to his home address! One male was arrested and a quantity of drugs was found following a search of his property.

"The male was so impressed that the officers had caught him that even complimented officers on their policing style!! #Newrecruit
