Man City XI vs Southampton: Haaland starts - starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest

Booting up: Erling Haaland is back - (Martin Rickett/PA Wire)

Erling Haaland is back and thrown straight into the starting line-up as Manchester City take on Southampton this afternoon.

The striker has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth at the end of March. Haaland made the bench for the win over Wolves but did not get on the pitch.

City travel to Premier League whipping boys Southampton this afternooon and Haaland will get some minutes under his belt ahead of the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace next weekend.

Asked for an update on Friday, Guardiola told reporters: "He's ready, he's fit. Start? We decide tomorrow."

Haaland’s start means Marmoush drops to the bench alongside Savinho. Kevin De Bruyne again gets the nod.

City remain without Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Nathan Ake and John Stones, with the latter three "partially training" with the team but "still not available."
