Pep Guardiola insists he is delighted with his Manchester City squad and may not look to replace Vincent Kompany.
The Premier League champions lost their captain this summer, with the Belgian joining Anderlecht as a player-coach.
But City look formidable once again, with Guardiola providing an update on the state of his squad.
He said: “We are so happy with the squad we have. I don’t know what is going to happen until the end of the market.
“I don’t know if players are going to leave or players are going to come.”
The Blues have signed Rodri from Atletico Madrid this summer, Angelino has returned from PSV and goalkeeper Zach Steffen has been snapped up from Colombus Crew.
Yet despite failing to add a new centre-back yet, Guardiola is not concerned and could enter the season with just three centre-backs.
“There is a chance but I don’t know if it is possible,” Guardiola remarked. “If not we have three incredible centre-backs.”
A permanent replacement for Kompany as captain is also yet to be decided, with Guardiola revealing the players will decide.
“They will choose the captain when we are all together,” Guardiola said. “After they are all back (they are) going to make a meeting and decide who is going to be captain.
