Man City transfer news: "Crazy" Bernardo Silva 'made promise' in Barcelona dream

No transfer is simple and it appears that even a club like City are finding that landing their targets could involve a little bit of give and take.

The long-running saga over Brighton’s Marc Cucurella is inching towards completion but it has seen City linked with a host of other options. And it now appears that Leeds are trying to get a little more than a transfer fee out of City in return for allowing Kalvin Phillips to join.

City are also keeping tabs on Manchester United’s pursuit of Frankie de Jong with Bernardo Silva now looking a possible mover to the Nou Camp. Mirror Sport gathers up all the best City news online here….

TIERNEY A NEW LEFT BACK TARGET

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has emerged as a surprise target for Manchester City.

The Premier League champions have been in talks with the Gunners over both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer. Now The Scotsman claim Guardiola also has his eyes one a member of the Arsenal squad.

They report that he has been keeping tabs on Tierney, who has impressed in the top-flight since he joined the Gunners in a £25million deal back in the summer of 2019. The report goes on to outline that Tierney is 'understood to feature on a list' of potential targets for City, who are desperate to land a new left-back this summer.

LEEDS SET FOR MCATEE DISAPPOINTMENT

Leeds look to be trying to engineer a loan signing for highly rated young talent James McAtee in return for letting Kalvin Phillips join Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Athletic are reporting that City are unwilling to let McAtee go this season with Guardiola keen to have the attacking midfielder in the first team group. But it has been reported that Leeds were interested in signing the Man City teenager, who starred in their under-23s side’s PL2 title win in 2021/22.

SILVA LOOKING FOR NOU CHALLENGE

Bernardo Silva is said to have set his heart on a move to Barcelona and is now waiting on Frankie de Jong moving in the opposite direction to Manchester United.

Barca manager Xavi has made no secret of his admiration for the City midfielder. The Catalans have been interested in the 27-year-old since last summer but have had their hands tied due to finances. But with Frenkie de Jong looking Old Trafford bound the cash to take Silva to the Nou Camp could now be there.

Diario AS insist Silva is ‘crazy’ about a potential transfer to Barcelona this summer, with his representative Jorge Mendes even promising the midfielder that he will try hard to get him his dream move to Camp Nou.
