Man City player ratings vs Liverpool FC as Kevin De Bruyne good and Joao Cancelo poor

Ederson: Made a number of excellent saves to keep the scoreline level and could do nothing with the goal. 7

Akanji: Played right-back and at the right of a three. A few awkward moments but nothing too bad. 5

Dias: Enjoyed being a sweeper and getting into the physical battles, even if he did lose a few foot races. 6

Ake: Solid on the left and City's best going forward with his build-up. 6

Cancelo: Spent much of the game high on the right but a schoolboy error to let Salah in. 4

Rodri: Struggled to keep control of the game early on before settling . 6

Gundogan: A threat linking with Haaland but ultimately couldn't make a breakthrough. 6

De Bruyne: City's best creative force and came closer than anyone else to making a goal. 7

Bernardo: Scampered about everywhere as well as helping out in defensive midfield, although his decision-making was off. 6

Foden: Didn't get at Milner or Gomez anywhere near what was expected as City ran dry on that flank. 5

Haaland: Earned some good positions, missed a few decent chances. Controlled well. 6
