Man City fixtures for Premier League 2025-26 season confirmed: Dethroned champions face early tests

Manchester City will begin their hunt for a seventh Premier League title under Pep Guardiola away at Wolves.

City underperformed last term, finishing third in the table, and 13 points off champions Liverpool.

They were missing Ballon d’Or winner Rodri and talismanic striker Erling Haaland for long periods of the campaign, and have seen Kevin De Bruyne depart. But City have already spent big this summer in a bid to steal back the title from Arne Slot’s Reds.

City’s first big test comes in their second game as they welcome bogey team Tottenham to town. It is part of a tough opening run for Guardiola’s side, with their first Manchester derby against United coming in their fourth game at the Etihad Stadium. That is followed immediately by a trip to Arsenal.

The away derby comes in February. Ruben Amorim has a winning record over Guardiola, beating the Catalan manager twice and drawing twice in their five meetings. Their most recent encounter came at Old Trafford, when both sides cancelled each other out in a goalless affair.

City host champions Liverpool on November 8, with the return game at Anfield on February 2, and Guardiola will host his old protege Mikel Arteta when Arsenal come to town in April.

The traditionally busy Christmas period sees City face West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, while their first game of 2026 is at home to Chelsea. The season concludes at home to Brentford.
