Man City fans can't believe BBC Man of the Match award vs Brighton in FA Cup semi final

Manchester City fans believed they were robbed as Brighton midfielder Anthony Knockeart was awarded the official Man of the Match award in the FA Cup semi-final.

City progressed to the final thanks to an early Gabriel Jesus goal, and held on against a spirited Brighton side for the remainder of the game.

That goal was set up by Aymeric Laporte, who's pinpoint long-range pass found Bernardo Silva, who laid the ball off to Kevin De Bruyne to send a perfect cross into Jesus.

And in the second half, Laporte was on hand to clear a Lewis Dunk header off the line from almost underneath his own crossbar.

His performance alongside Nicolas Otamendi was one of the more pleasing aspects of a difficult afternoon for City, but it was strangely not rewarded with the official Man of the Match award.

Chosen by BBC commentator Martin Keown, Anthony Knockeart of Brighton was given the official award - and City fans couldn't believe Laporte was overlooked.
