A Melbourne man charged with supplying a firearm to the Brighton siege gunman has been granted bail.
George Matte-Hado, 37, is charged with supplying a gun to terrorist Yacqub Khayre, who killed a man and injured three police officers in June before he was shot dead.
Matte-Hado's defence lawyer told the Victorian Supreme Court the case was not about terrorism, but about a man who sold a shotgun to another man.
His client is accused of supplying the shotgun to a middle man in May.
The court was told no-one regrets more than Matte-Hado the way in which the firearm was ultimately used.
His lawyer told the court he had instead been concerned the gun would be onsold to the Apex gang.
More to come.
